“THE CHARACTERISTICS OF GOD’S FORGIVENESS”

1. It is COMPLETE…"And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses." (Colossians 2:13)

2. It is BY GRACE…"In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace." (Ephesians 1:7)

3. It is UNEQUALED…"Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy." (Micah 7:18)

4. It is CERTAIN…"I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name's sake." (1 John 2:12)

5. It is INFINITE…"He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities… As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us." (Psalm 103:10, 12)

6. It is MERCIFUL…"For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee." (Psalm 86:5)

7. It is LOVING…"Behold, for peace I had great bitterness: but thou hast in love to my soul delivered it from the pit of corruption: for thou hast cast all my sins behind thy back." (Isaiah 38:17)

8. It is only thru JESUS CHRIST…"To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins." (Acts 10:43)

9. It is only thru FAITH…"Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins: And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses." (Acts 13:38-39)

10. It is MOTIVATING…

a. It motivates GREAT LOVE TOWARDS GOD. (Luke 7:36-50)
